Commission Information
Decorating in game for me has to be fun and worth my time. I have max level Master Carpenters on Antonia Bayle and Nagafen. I tend to take on one or two commission jobs per year. In order for me to determine whether or not to take on a new commission; I will ask questions relating to the following criteria and will make a determination to accept a client's project on a case by case basis.
1. The Client - I prefer laid back clients that give me free reign after providing their initial design ideas and preferences.
2. The Size of the Project - Guild Halls and large Prestige homes can take a while to design, craft the materials, build and and can be pricey on fuel costs. Smaller projects can take less time to design and cost less.
3. Client Flexibility - It is my utmost priority to complete a commission job as soon as we agree and down payment is received and remaining balances are paid. However, I do prefer a client that's not in a huge rush for a large project. I am in game on most weekends and from time to time during the week and can be away for several days at a time in the middle of a commission job. Also, if there is a live in game event going on during the time I am commissioned to do a clients project I may take time away obtain items for the clients project and to stock up for future projects. I will keep the client up to date with my schedule via in game mail.
4. What the Client is Willing to Pay - If the client understands and respects that my time & designs are worth it to them that certainly helps with us coming to an agreement to do the project :-)
Payment Info: Once we agree on a design; I require that half of the plat be paid up front and the other half when I indicate to the the client that I am halfway through the project. I also encourage some payment in the form of status point items redeemable by the in game commodities merchant if agreed to in advance.
Quest Reward/Collection items: I may ask the client to do quests to obtain exclusive no trade items or complete collection rewards to help complete the design vision.
Rares: I use rares sparingly and based on the lowest possible broker prices and may ask to be refunded the cost based on the amount of rares used.
Live Events: Some housing items are obtained only by live in game events. Monthly events such as City Festivals & Moonlight Enchantments may require your project to be designed around the timing of those to ensure an economical design based on the design vision. Other live events such as Frostfell may make some items economically unobtainable or just simply unobtainable due to the nature of the once a year event.
Client Feedback: After I provide the client with a design proposal and get to work; I prefer that clients give me lot's of feedback while designing their project. This helps me to ensure that the client's vision is being fully realized and also ensures customer satisfaction.
Consultations - If you are an aspiring or experienced decorator in need of help; whether you are stuck on a design idea or simply can't figure out how to make something fit just right I will usually provide some feedback in game at no charge. If you want to hire me to complete your vision or project then see commission information items 1 through 4. All consultations are determined on a case by case basis.
